Wine project of the Pousada of Viseu draws the attention of international conference

A demonstration vineyard of the 11 most emblematic national grape varieties, such as Touriga Nacional, Encruzado and Trincadeira, was installed in the garden of the main entrance of the Pousada de Viseu, arousing the curiosity of visitors. The "Urban Vineyard", as it is called, aims to showcase the characteristics of each grape variety, highlighting those that make up the wines of the Dão Demarcated Region. This project, launched in 2019, drew the attention of the international conference TWINE- Co-creating sustainable rural tourism experiences with food & wine, local culture, landscapes, and people that took place on 25 and 26 February and sought to stimulate debate for those working in this sector.

The Pousada de Viseu was chosen as a case study for this conference for promoting various experiences, from wine chats with enologists, jeep rides through the region's main wine route tourism, guided tours with wine tasting and SPA treatments based on the "nectar of the gods". Located in the heart of the Dão Demarcated Region, this Pousada de Portugal with 84 rooms seeks to affirm itself as a true wine embassy, having this element present in all the spaces, from a special Suite to the Urban Wine Shop, with a personalized service where you can buy a bottle and sit at a table for Lunch or Dinner in the “Viriato” restaurant full of details that complement the experience linked to wine.
